چکیده

Sorption and desorption mechanisms of lead (Pb) were determined in four different soils collected from different agro-climatic regions of India. The soils were classified as: Fine loamy mixed Typic Dystrudepts, fine sandy loam Typic Ustochrepts, fine loamy Typic Ustochrept, and fine sandy loam Udic Haplustalfs. Seven different Pb solutions [Pb(NO3)2 dissolved in 0.01M Ca(NO3)2] in a range of 400 to 2000μgL were applied to study the sorption amounts at 25(±2)C and 45(±2)C temperatures. With the increase in application rate and temperature, sorption amounts of Pb increased; however, percentages of sorption of applied Pb were decreased. Sorptions were positively and significantly (p ≤ 0.01) correlated with Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Thermodynamic parameters of sorption (i.e. K, G, H, and S) were also determined at two temperatures, 25(±2)C and 45(±2)C. Increase in K with the increase in temperature indicated positive effect of temperature on Pb sorption. High absolute values of G, and positive values of H, and S suggested that the sorption reaction was spontaneous and endothermic. Sorbed Pb were desorbed in Pb free 0.01 M Ca(NO3)2 solutions at 25(±2)C and 45(±2)C. Desorption amounts increased with increase in the Pb application rate, but not always with the increase in temperature.

Influence of Soil Properties and Test Conditions on Sorption and Desorption of Testosterone

In this study, batch sorption and desorption experiments were conducted for testosterone using four agricultural soils and five clay minerals. Significant differences in sorption behavior were observed between abiotic and biotic systems. The Freundlich sorption coefficient Kf ðμg=gÞ=ðμg=mLÞn ranged from 8.53 to 74.46 for soils and from 35.28 to 1,243 for clays. The maximum sorption capacity (μg...

Comparison of Cadmium Adsorption Behavior in Selected Calcareous and Acid Soils

Cadmium (Cd) concentration in soil solution and its bioavailability is controlled by sorption-desorption reactions. The objective of this research was to compare Cd adsorption behavior in six calcareous and four acid soils. Soil samples were equilibrated with 0.01 M Ca(NO3)2 containing 25 to 3200 mg Cd L−1. Results showed that the tendency for adsorption was high at low Cd concentrations (0-400...

Effect of two organic amendments on norflurazon retention and release by soils of different characteristics.

The influence of two organic amendments on norflurazon sorption-desorption processes in four soils with very different physicochemical characteristics was studied in laboratory experiments to evaluate the potential leaching of this pesticide through organic fertilized soils. Sorption-desorption experiments were performed on original soils and on a mixture of these soils with urban waste compost...

تأثیر اسید‌ هومیک بر جذب و واجذب روی

Humic substances are the most important organic fractions in soils and have affinity towards trace metals. In order to evaluate the effect of humic acid on zinc (Zn) sorption and desorption by soil,‌ a batch experiment was conducted with two soil samples which were different in clay and calcium carbonate contents. Three levels of humic acid (0,‌ 200, 500 mg/L) and various Zn concentrations (0 t...
